After graduating from Nottingham University with a 2:1 degree in Philosophy I sought to find a career that put my inquisitive, contemplative personality to some practical use.
While working as the director of a national youth organisation I studied for my postgraduate certificate in newspaper journalism and having proved myself as a rookie reporter I went on to attain my senior journalism qualifications accredited by the National Council for Journalism Training.
With Newsquest, one of the UK’s largest regional newspaper publishers, I spent time as a senior reporter, chief reporter and editor and worked across a broad range of titles writing news and features on a variety of subjects.
For the last eight years though, since finding another job as mummy to three beautiful children, I have been working on a freelance basis for an array of national and regional newspapers and magazines as well as for broadcast news outlets and in that time have specialised in human interest stories.
For me it is a huge privilege to briefly step into someone’s world, share their thoughts, feelings and memories and help to organise them all into an enjoyable read.
It would be my pleasure to work with you to put down into words your story to ensure it lives on for generations to come.
